West Forsyth Youth Lacrosse

2026 Boys Spring Registration

Welcome to West Forsyth Boys Youth Spring Registration

Our goal is to educate, equip and empower youth sports leaders, volunteers and parents so all children can enjoy the lifelong benefits of sports. WFYLAX offers programs for boys in K-8th grades focused on growing the game of lacrosse here in Forsyth County.

Divisions: Players are segmented by school grades into the following recreation groups:
  • Little Shooters* - K-1st grade
  • U9 - 2nd/3rd grade
  • U11 - 4th/5th grade
  • MS - 6th/7th/8th grade
*Our Little Shooters Program for K-1st grade introduces the game to children in a clinic-style setting, one day per week, teaching the fundamentals of the game.  Games are typically played in a jamboree format (3-4 events depending on program participation across the Newtown League)

Games: All Rec teams (U9/U11/MS)  participate in the Newtown Park Lacrosse League and play games on the weekends in the north metro area.  Schedules become available late February.  We anticipate our games to begin the first weekend of March through the end of April.

Practices sessions: Players (U9/U11/MS) will have practice twice a week beginning in February (schedule TBD).  In addition, Speed & Agility sessions will be offered each Friday for player conditioning beginning in late January.

Pricing:

  • The cost for the Little Shooters program is $100 (includes new uniform)
  • The cost for the 2nd-8th grade recreation program is $375 (includes new uniforms, league fees)

PARENT & PLAYER EXPECTATIONS

Parent Expectations

  • Come Early and Be Ready: Get your child to practice 15 minutes early, so they are fully dressed and warmed-up when practice starts. Also have them to games on time, make sure they’re prepared, and communicate respectfully with coaches as needed.
  • Be a Positive Role Model: Show good sportsmanship by cheering respectfully for all players and treating coaches, referees, and other parents with kindness.
  • Let Coaches Coach: Support your child by encouraging them, but avoid giving instructions during games or practices. Trust the coaches to teach and guide the team.
  • Encourage Effort, Not Just Winning: Focus on your child’s effort, improvement, and teamwork, not just the score. Help them enjoy the game and learn from every experience.
  • Respect Officials: Allow referees to do their jobs without criticism. Mistakes happen, but respectful behavior sets the tone for your child.

Player Expectations

  • Come Early and Be Ready: Get to practice early so you have all of your equipment on and you’re warmed-up when practice starts.
  • Be Kind and Respectful: Be nice to your teammates, coaches, other teams and referees. Do not make fun of or bully your teammates. Treat everyone how you want to be treated.
  • Use Positive Words: Cheer for your teammates and say kind things. No trash talking!
  • Try Your Best: Work hard and have a good attitude, whether you win or lose.
  • Follow the Rules: Play fair, listen to the coaches and referees, and don’t argue.
